Getting There

Car
If you are traveling by car, start on the Inter-American Highway (Route 2) heading south towards Pérez Zeledón. Continue until you reach the town of San Isidro de El General. In San Isidro, follow the signs to Route 219 towards Parque Nacional Chirripó. Keep driving on Route 219 for about 20 kilometers until you reach the park entrance at GG74+95C, Pérez Zeledón. Make sure to check the park's operating hours as it opens at 8 AM and closes at 4 PM.

Public Transportation
For public transportation, take a bus from San José to San Isidro de El General. Buses depart from the Terminal de Buses de San José and the journey takes approximately 3 hours. Once in San Isidro, transfer to a local bus heading towards the entrance of Parque Nacional Chirripó. Make sure to confirm with the bus driver that the bus stops at the park entrance at GG74+95C, as some may not go directly there. Again, be mindful of the park's operating hours—arrive early to ensure you have enough time for your visit.
