Ferry and Taxi
To reach Mont Rotui from Tahiti, take a ferry from Papeete to Moorea. Ferries operated by Aremiti and Terevau run multiple times daily, with a one-way ticket costing approximately $11-$16 USD. The ferry arrives either in Vaiare. From the ferry terminal, take a taxi to the trailhead near the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort and Spa or Ta'ahiamanu public beach. The taxi ride to the trail head will cost around $20 - $30 USD. Confirm the fare before starting your trip.
Public Transportation
From the ferry terminal, take the local bus (le truck) towards Paopao. The bus ride costs around 300 XPF (approximately $3 USD). Inform the driver of your destination. Once you arrive in Paopao, disembark and walk towards the base of Mont Rotui. The trail starts near the village, and you can ask locals for directions if needed. Be sure to check the schedule for the return trip, as bus services may be limited in the evening.
