From Hvolsvöllur, turn onto Route 261, which will take you towards Þórsmörk. Follow Route 261 for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the Þórsmörk nature reserve. Park your vehicle at the designated parking area. Note that parking fees typically range from ISK 1,000 to ISK 2,000 per day.

For those using public transportation, take a bus from Reykjavík to Hvolsvöllur. Bus services like Sterna offer daily departures. Once in Hvolsvöllur, you can catch a local shuttle or taxi to Þórsmörk. The bus fare from Reykjavík to Hvolsvöllur is approximately ISK 3,500. The shuttle service to Þórsmörk may cost around ISK 2,500, depending on the provider. Make sure to check the bus schedules ahead of time, as they may vary seasonally.
