If you're driving from Reykjavík, start by heading southwest on Route 41 (Reykjanesbraut) towards Keflavík. Continue on Route 41 for about 40 kilometers (approximately 30 minutes). Look for signs directing you to 'Seltún' or 'Reykjanes Peninsula'. Take the exit onto Route 43 and follow it until you reach Route 427. Continue on Route 427, and after about 10 kilometers, you will find the entrance to the Seltún Geothermal Area on your right. There is free parking available at the site.

To reach Seltún Geothermal Area using public transport, start by taking a bus from the Reykjavík Bus Terminal (BSI) to Grindavík. Bus number 55 operates on this route. The journey takes approximately 50 minutes. Once in Grindavík, you will need to arrange a taxi to Seltún, as public transport does not provide direct access to the geothermal area. Taxis can be booked via local taxi services, and the fare might be around 2,500 ISK (Icelandic Króna) depending on the distance. Make sure to check the bus schedule for return trips to ensure you can get back to Reykjavík.
