Getting There

Walking
From the center of Vik, head north on Austurvegur street towards the Vik i Myrdal Church. Once you reach the church, continue straight onto the path leading towards the hills. Follow the signs indicating the Fimmvörðuháls Trail. The trailhead is approximately 5 km from Vik, and you will pass by beautiful landscapes and possibly local sheep along the way.

Catch a bus from the Vik bus station heading towards Skógar. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time, as services may be limited. Request to be dropped off at the Fimmvörðuháls trailhead.
