Car
If you are driving from central Bungo, take Route 10 south towards Takachiho. Continue on Route 10 for about 30 kilometers until you reach Takachiho. Once in Takachiho, follow the signs to Amanoiwato Shrine. The shrine is located at 1073-1 Iwato, Takachiho, Nishiusuki District, Miyazaki. There is parking available at the shrine, but be aware that it may fill up quickly during peak tourist seasons. Note that there may be tolls on the expressway if you choose to take that route.

Start at Bungo, and take a local bus or train to Takachiho Station. From Takachiho Station, you can take a local bus to Amanoiwato Shrine. Buses to the shrine may run less frequently, so check the schedule in advance. The bus ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive at the shrine stop, it is a short walk to the entrance of Amanoiwato Shrine. The bus fare from Takachiho Station to the shrine is generally around 500 yen.

For a more convenient option, you can take a taxi from Takachiho Station directly to Amanoiwato Shrine. This will take about 15 minutes and cost roughly 1,500 to 2,000 yen, depending on traffic.
