Car
If you are driving from the center of Hitachi, head south on Route 6 (Higashi-Kanto Expressway) towards Mito. Follow the signs towards the Joban Expressway and merge onto it. Continue for approximately 70 km until you reach the exit for Ueno. From there, follow the signs to Asakusa, which will lead you to Sensō-ji. Parking is available nearby, but it may incur a fee of around ¥500-¥1000 per hour, depending on the lot.

From Hitachi Station, take the JR Joban Line towards Ueno Station. This journey takes about 50 minutes. Once at Ueno Station, transfer to the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line and take the train towards Asakusa Station. This is a short ride of about 5 minutes. Once you arrive at Asakusa Station, take the exit towards 'Asakusa Temple' and follow the signs. Sensō-ji is just a 5-minute walk from the station.

You can also take a bus from Hitachi to Tokyo. Look for a direct express bus service that goes to Tokyo Station. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. From Tokyo Station, transfer to the JR Yamanote Line and travel to Ueno Station. From Ueno Station, switch to the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line to Asakusa Station. Once you arrive, follow the signs to Sensō-ji, which is a 5-minute walk away.
