Inochinushino Yashiro: A Sacred Oasis in Izumo

Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Izumo City. Take Route 431 (Izumo Bypass) towards Taisha. Follow the signs for Taisha, and continue on Route 431 for approximately 10 minutes. After passing the Izumo Taisha Shrine, keep following the signs for Taisha, and turn left onto Taishacho Kizukihigashi. Inochinushino Yashiro will be located on your right at 185 Taishacho Kizukihigashi. Parking is available nearby, but be prepared to pay a small fee.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  For those using public transportation, take the local bus from Izumo Station. Board the bus heading to Izumo Taisha, which can usually be found at the bus terminal adjacent to the station. The journey takes about 15-20 minutes, and the fare is around 500 yen. Once you arrive at the Izumo Taisha stop, exit the bus and walk towards Taishacho Kizukihigashi Street. Inochinushino Yashiro is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop. Follow the signs to Taisha, and you will see it on your right at 185 Taishacho Kizukihigashi.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, taking a taxi from Izumo Station to Inochinushino Yashiro is a convenient option. The taxi ride takes approximately 15 minutes, and the fare should be around 2,000 yen, depending on traffic. Simply tell the driver 'Inochinushino Yashiro at 185 Taishacho Kizukihigashi' and they will take you directly to the shrine.
