If you're driving from Kagoshima city center, start by heading south on Route 3 (Kagoshima Bay Road). Continue for about 10 minutes until you reach the Shiroyama area. Follow signs for the Cave of Takamori Saigo. You can park at designated parking areas near the cave. Be aware that parking fees may apply, typically around 500 yen for a day.

Public Transportation
From Kagoshima Chuo Station, take the Kagoshima City Tram (No. 1 or 2 line) towards the Korimoto direction. Get off at the 'Shiroyama' tram stop (about 10 minutes). From there, it's a 15-minute walk to the cave. Walk towards the Shiroyama Observatory, and follow the signs leading to the Cave of Takamori Saigo. The tram fare is approximately 200 yen one way.

If you are already in the Shiroyama area, simply walk towards the Shiroyama Observatory and follow the path signs. It should take around 15 minutes on foot from the observatory to reach the Cave of Takamori Saigo.
