Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving, start from central Kagoshima and head north on Route 3 (Kagoshima Bay Road). Continue for about 10 minutes until you reach the Terukunicho area. Turn left onto Terukunicho, and you will find Terukuni Shrine at 19-35 Terukunicho. There is parking available nearby, but be aware that it might incur a small fee.

  • Public Transportation - Bus

    If you prefer public transportation, you can take a city bus from Kagoshima Chuo Station. Board the bus heading towards Terukuni Shrine (the bus stop is labeled). The journey takes about 20 minutes. Disembark at the Terukuni Shrine bus stop, which is a short walk from the shrine entrance.

    From Kagoshima Chuo Station, take the JR Kagoshima Main Line towards Sendai. Get off at the Kagoshima Station (the journey takes about 5 minutes).
