Walking
From JR Kagoshima Chuo Station, take the east exit and turn left. Cross the Takami Bridge over the Kotsuki River, keeping the Kagoshima City Tram tracks in sight. Turn right in front of the bronze statue of Toshimichi Okubo. The museum will be on your left. The walk is approximately 8 minutes.

Public Transport
Take the Kagoshima City View sightseeing bus and get off at the 'Ishin Furusatokan-mae' stop, which is right in front of the museum. Alternatively, it's a 3-minute walk from the 'Takami-bashi' tram stop. Kagoshima City Tram fare is a flat rate of ¥170 for adults and ¥80 for children per ride. A one-day travel card is available for ¥600, valid on the tram, city bus, and Kagoshima City View bus.
