If you're driving from the outskirts of Kyoto, take the Meishin Expressway and exit at the Kyoto Minami Interchange. From there, follow the signs to Route 1, which will lead you into the city center. Continue on Route 1 until you reach the Nakagyo Ward area. Look for signs directing you to Sanjo-kobashi Bridge. There is limited parking available nearby, so consider using a paid parking lot. Expect to pay around 500 to 1000 yen for parking depending on the duration.

To reach Sanjo-kobashi Bridge using public transportation, first find your way to the nearest train station. If you are at Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Line (green line) towards Kokusaikaikan and get off at Shijo Station. From Shijo Station, it’s about a 10-minute walk to the bridge. Exit the station and walk east along Shijo Street until you reach Sanjo-dori, then turn right and continue until you see the bridge. This journey will cost you approximately 210 yen for the train fare.
