If you are traveling by car from the Kyoto countryside, navigate towards the center of Kyoto city. Take the Shichijo-dori road heading west and follow the signs for Sanjūsangendō. The temple is located at 657 Sanjusangendomawari, Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto, 605-0941. There is parking available nearby, but be aware that it may incur a fee of approximately 500 yen per hour. Once you park, it's a short walk to the temple entrance.

For those using public transportation, take the bus from your location in the Kyoto countryside to Kyoto Station. From Kyoto Station, board Bus #100 or #206. Both buses have stops at Sanjūsangendō. The fare from Kyoto Station to Sanjūsangendō is about 230 yen. Once you get off the bus, it’s only a few minutes walk to the temple entrance.

Alternatively, if you're near a train station in the Kyoto countryside, you can take the JR Nara Line from a local station to Tofukuji Station. From Tofukuji Station, it is about a 20-minute walk to Sanjūsangendō. Follow the signs towards Sanjūsangendō, and you will find your way to the temple. The train fare will vary depending on your starting point but is generally around 300-400 yen.
