If you're traveling by car, start from central Kyoto and head southeast via Route 1. Follow the signs toward Higashiyama Ward. After approximately 30 minutes of driving, you will arrive at Hōkō-ji Temple located at 527-2 Chayacho, Higashiyama Ward. There is limited parking available near the temple, so plan to arrive early to secure a spot.

Public Transportation
To reach Hōkō-ji Temple using public transportation, take the Kyoto City Bus from Kyoto Station. Board the bus number 100 or 206 and get off at the 'Higashiyama Shichijo' stop. From there, it's about a 10-minute walk to the temple. Simply exit the bus, walk east on Shichijo Street, and turn left on Chayacho Street. The temple will be on your right side. The bus fare is approximately 230 yen.

Walking
If you're already in the Higashiyama area, you can walk to Hōkō-ji Temple. From Kiyomizu-dera Temple, head west along Kiyomizu-zaka Street. Continue straight until you reach Chayacho Street, then turn right. The temple is a short walk down the street on your left. This walk offers beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and is a great way to experience the local environment.
