    If you are driving from Kyoto city center, take the Meishin Expressway and exit at Otsu IC. From there, take Route 161 towards Takashima. Follow the signs for Takashima and continue on Route 161 for approximately 30 km. Once you reach Takashima, look for signs directing you to Shirahige Shrine, which is located at 215 Ukawa. The shrine has a parking lot available, but please note that it may fill up quickly on weekends.

    To reach Shirahige Shrine using public transportation, start by taking the JR Biwako Line from Kyoto Station towards Otsu. Get off at Omi-Takashima Station. From the station, you can take a local bus (Keihan Bus) that goes towards Ukawa. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Get off at the Ukawa bus stop, and from there, it’s a short 10-minute walk to the shrine, located at 215 Ukawa. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time, as services may be limited.
