Train
From Kyoto Station, take the JR Biwako Line (also known as the JR Tōkaidō Line) towards Otsu. The journey takes about 20 minutes. Get off at Otsu Station.

From Otsu Station, exit the station and head south toward the main road (Higashi-Odori). Turn left and walk along the road for approximately 10 minutes, passing through the city center. Continue straight until you reach Lake Biwa. Biwako Ōtsu-kan will be on your left at 5-35 Yanagasaki, Otsu, Shiga 520-0022.

Alternatively, from Otsu Station, you can take a bus. Look for the bus stop outside the station and take the #2 or #3 bus towards Yanagasaki. Get off at Yanagasaki bus stop, which is a short 5-minute ride. From there, walk north for about 5 minutes to reach Biwako Ōtsu-kan.
