If you are driving from central Kyoto, take the Kyoto Higashi Bypass (Kyoto Shimizu Road) and head towards Otsu. Continue on Route 1 towards Otsu, then take the exit for Route 161 towards Otsu / Shiga. Follow Route 161 until you reach Onjo-ji (Mii-dera), which is located at 246 Onjojicho, Otsu, Shiga 520-0036. There is parking available near the temple, but be mindful of any parking fees that may apply.

From Kyoto Station, take the JR Kosei Line towards Omiya and get off at Otsu Station (approximately 30 minutes). From Otsu Station, you can take the Keihan bus 5 or 6 (bound for Onjo-ji) and get off at the Onjo-ji bus stop. The bus ride takes about 15 minutes. The temple is a short walk from the bus stop.
