If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Kyoto. Take the Meishin Expressway (名神高速道路) towards Nagoya. Exit at Otsu IC and follow the signs for Otsu city. After exiting, continue on Route 1 and then turn onto Route 161. Keep following Route 161 until you reach Banba. Gichuji is located at 1 Chome-5-12 Banba, Otsu, Shiga 520-0802. Parking may be available near the temple, but check for any local signage regarding parking restrictions.

For those using public transportation, start at Kyoto Station and take the JR Train to Otsu Station (approximately 30 minutes). From Otsu Station, you can take a local bus (Bus No. 20) towards Banba. Get off at the Banba bus stop, and from there, it is a 10-minute walk to Gichuji, which is situated at 1 Chome-5-12 Banba, Otsu, Shiga 520-0802.
