    To reach Biwa Lake by car from Settsu, start by heading north on Route 1 (国道1号線) towards Osaka. Continue on this road for approximately 10 km. Merge onto the Hanshin Expressway (阪神高速道路) towards Kyoto. Follow the expressway for about 15 km. Take the exit for Route 161 (国道161号線) towards Otsu. After about 10 km, you will see signs for Biwa Lake. Follow the signs to the parking areas available near the lake. Be aware that parking fees may apply, typically around 500-1000 yen.

    If you prefer to use public transportation, start by taking the Hankyu Takarazuka Line from Settsu to Umeda Station in Osaka. Transfer to the JR Kyoto Line and take a train towards Kyoto.
