Getting There

    From Zao Onsen, take Route 286 heading north towards Sendai. After approximately 30 minutes, you will reach the intersection with Route 457. Turn left onto Route 457 and continue for about 20 minutes. As you approach the Akiumachi area, look for signs to Ninowayama. Kosenji Temple will be located on your right at the address: Ninowayama-67 Akiumachi Nagafukuro, Taihaku Ward, Sendai, Miyagi 982-0243. Free parking is available nearby.

  • Public Transportation (Bus and Walk)

    From Zao Onsen, take a local bus to Zao Onsen Station. From there, board a bus heading to Sendai Station (check the schedule for the latest timings). Once at Sendai Station, transfer to the bus heading to Akiumachi. Disembark at the Akiumachi Nagafukuro stop. Kosenji Temple is approximately a 15-minute walk from the bus stop. Head northwest on the main road, and follow the signs to Kosenji Temple at Ninowayama-67.
