Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, you can reach the Museum of Natural History, Tohoku University by taking the Tohoku Expressway. Exit at Sendai Miyagi Interchange and follow the signs towards Sendai city center. After exiting, merge onto Route 48 and continue for approximately 6 km. Turn left onto Aoba-Dori Avenue, and follow this road until you reach Aramaki. Turn right onto Aramaki 6-chome, and you will find the museum at Aoba-6-3 Aramaki. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that there may be a parking fee.

• Public Transportation - Train

  To reach the museum using public transportation, take the JR Senseki Line from any station in Tohoku to Sendai Station. From Sendai Station, transfer to the Sendai Subway and take the Nanboku Line towards Izumi-Chuo Station. Get off at Aoba-Dori Ichibancho Station. From there, it is a 20-minute walk to the museum. Follow the signs towards Aoba-6-3 Aramaki, or use a map application for precise walking directions. The total travel time is approximately 50 minutes, and the train fare is around 500 yen.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  An alternative public transport option is to take a bus from Sendai Station. Look for the bus terminal at Sendai Station and find the bus route that goes to the Aoba area. Buses such as the Sendai City Community Bus can take you close to Aoba-6-3 Aramaki, but you may need to walk a short distance to reach the museum. The bus fare typically costs around 200-300 yen. Make sure to check the bus schedule as frequencies may vary.
