Getting There

    From Zao Onsen, start by driving south on Route 457. Follow the signs for Sendai. After approximately 30-40 minutes, you will reach the city limits of Sendai. Continue on Route 457 and merge onto Route 48 towards Aoba Ward. After about 15 minutes, take the exit towards Sendai Castle. Follow the signs to Ni no maru, which will be located in Aoba Ward. There is parking available near the castle, but it may incur a fee, typically around 300-500 yen.

    From Zao Onsen, walk to the Zao Onsen bus stop and take the bus to Yamagata Station. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes and costs approximately 600 yen. From Yamagata Station, transfer to the Shinkansen (bullet train) heading towards Sendai. The train ride will take around 30 minutes and costs approximately 2,500 yen.
