From Zao Onsen, head southeast on Route 28 towards Sendai. After approximately 30 minutes of driving, you will reach the outskirts of Sendai. Follow signs for Kawauchi and keep an eye out for the directions to the Equestrian Statue of Date Masamune. There is parking available near the statue, but please note that parking fees may apply.

Public Transportation - Bus
Take the Zao Onsen Bus bound for Sendai Station. The journey will take about 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Sendai Station, transfer to the Sendai City Bus. Board the bus heading to Kawauchi and disembark at the Kawauchi stop. From there, you can walk to the Equestrian Statue of Date Masamune, which is about a 10-minute walk. Be mindful of the bus schedules, as they may vary.

Public Transportation - Train
Start by taking a bus from Zao Onsen to Shiroishi-Zao Station. This journey takes about 25 minutes. From Shiroishi-Zao Station, take the Tohoku Shinkansen to Sendai Station, which takes around 30 minutes. Once at Sendai Station, transfer to the Sendai City Bus towards Kawauchi and get off at the Kawauchi stop. The statue is a 10-minute walk from there. Ensure you purchase a ticket for the Shinkansen in advance, as prices can vary.
