Getting There

  • Car

    From Zao Onsen, start by heading southeast on Route 457. Continue on Route 457 for approximately 25 km until you reach the intersection with Route 48. Turn left onto Route 48 and drive for about 10 km. Then, turn right onto Route 4, and after about 3 km, you will see signs for the Sendai Castle Burying Gate Ruins. Follow the signs, and you will reach the parking area near the ruins.

  • Bus and Walking

    Start at the Zao Onsen bus terminal and take the bus bound for Sendai Station. The bus ride will take approximately 45 minutes. Get off at Sendai Station. From there, transfer to the Sendai City Loop Bus (loople Sendai) and take the bus towards Aoba Castle. Get off at the Aoba Castle stop and follow the signs to the Sendai Castle Burying Gate Ruins, which is about a 15-minute walk away.
