Getting There

    If you're driving from Moshi, take the A23 highway towards Arusha. After about 45 minutes, follow the signs for Mount Kilimanjaro National Park. You will reach the Marangu Gate (the main entrance) within 1 hour of leaving Moshi. Note that there is an entrance fee of approximately $70 for foreign visitors, which can be paid on-site.

  • Public Transportation

    From Moshi, take a dala-dala (local minibus) heading to Marangu. The minibuses leave from the central bus station and the fare is around 1,500 TZS (Tanzanian Shillings). The journey will take about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Marangu, you can either walk to the Marangu Gate or hire a local taxi for about 5,000 TZS to reach the entrance of Mount Kilimanjaro National Park.

  • Taxi

    If you prefer a more direct option, you can hire a taxi from Moshi to Marangu Gate. This will cost you around $30 to $50 depending on the negotiation. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes. Ensure you agree on the fare before starting the trip.
