Getting There

  • Bus

    From Laurel, walk to the Laurel Town Center stop located at the intersection of Route 1 and Contee Road. Catch the PG County bus route 17 heading towards Greenbelt Metro Station. After approximately 15 minutes, disembark at the Greenbelt Metro Station. From there, transfer to the Green Line Metro towards Branch Avenue. Travel for about 35 minutes and get off at the Navy Yard-Ballpark Metro Station. Exit the station and walk towards the southeast along the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail until you reach the intersection with Sicard St SE. The Naval District Washington Chapel will be on your right.

  • Train and Walk

    Start at the Laurel MARC train station. Board the Penn Line train towards Union Station. After about a 30-minute ride, get off at the Washington Union Station. From Union Station, exit and walk to the Red Line Metro station within the same complex. Take the Red Line towards Glenmont and switch at Gallery Place-Chinatown for the Green Line towards Branch Avenue. Travel for about 5 stops and get off at the Navy Yard-Ballpark Metro Station. From there, walk southeast along the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail until you reach Sicard St SE, where the Naval District Washington Chapel is located.

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the bike-share stations in Laurel. Head towards the Maryland Greenway Trail, which takes you south. Follow the trail until you reach the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail. Continue along the riverwalk for approximately 10 miles, which will lead you to the vicinity of the Navy Yard-Ballpark area. Once you reach the intersection with Sicard St SE, the Naval District Washington Chapel will be on your left.
