    From the nearest Glacier National Park visitor center, head towards the trailhead for Bertha Lake. If you're at the Lake McDonald Visitor Center, take the Going-to-the-Sun Road and follow the signs to the trailhead. The trailhead is located near the end of the road. Once you reach the Bertha Lake Trailhead, begin your hike on the Bertha Lake Trail, which is well-marked. The hike is approximately 3.6 miles round trip and will take you through beautiful forests and offer stunning views of the lake. Follow the trail signs, and after about a mile, you will reach the lake.

  • Public Transportation

    If you are at the Apgar Visitor Center, use the shuttle bus service that operates within Glacier National Park. Take the shuttle towards the Many Glacier area, and get off at the stop for the Bertha Lake trailhead. The bus schedule is available at the visitor center, and it is recommended to check the times for the return trip as well. Once you disembark, follow the Bertha Lake Trail to reach the lake.
