Getting There

    From the Many Glacier Campground, head north on the Swiftcurrent Trail. Continue along the Swiftcurrent Lake, following the signs towards Grinnell Glacier. After about 1.5 miles, you will come to the junction where you can take a left onto the Grinnell Glacier Trail. Follow this trail for another 2 miles until you reach the stunning Grinnell Glacier overlook. From there, continue on the trail, which eventually leads you to the backcountry area near Morning Eagle. This is a strenuous hike, so ensure you have plenty of water and snacks.

  • Shuttle

    Take the Glacier National Park Shuttle from the Apgar Visitor Center heading towards Rising Sun. You will need to get off at the St. Mary Falls stop. From there, it's about a 4-mile hike east along the St. Mary River Trail, which leads you towards the Browning area. The trail is well-marked, and you will enjoy beautiful views of the river and surrounding landscape.

  • Biking

    If you are near the Apgar area, rent a bike and take the bike path heading towards the West Glacier entrance. Continue on the bike path until you reach the road leading towards the Many Glacier area. Keep an eye out for road signs directing you toward Browning.
