  • Hiking from Many Glacier Hotel

    Start your journey at the Many Glacier Hotel, which is located in the Many Glacier area of Glacier National Park. From the hotel, head south along Swiftcurrent Lake. You will find a trailhead at the end of the lake, which leads to the Grinnell Glacier Trail. Follow the Grinnell Glacier Trail, which is well-marked. The hike is approximately 7.6 miles one way. Along the trail, you will pass scenic views of the surrounding mountains and lakes. Continue on the trail until you reach the Grinnell Glacier overlook. From here, you will need to navigate to the right towards Mt. Grinnell. The peak is visible from the overlook and will be to the north. This final approach requires some scrambling, so be cautious and ensure you have proper hiking gear.

    If you are at the Grinnell Lake Trailhead, which is located along the Many Glacier Road, begin your hike by following the Grinnell Lake Trail. This trail is about 2.6 miles to the lake itself.
