If you're driving from Palmerston North, head northwest on State Highway 3 towards Whanganui. Continue on SH3 for approximately 70 kilometers. As you approach Whanganui, take the exit towards Victoria Avenue and follow the signs to Castlecliff. Turn onto Rapanui Road, and you will find Bason Botanic Gardens at 552 Rapanui Road, Castlecliff, Westmere 4574. Parking is available on-site.

To reach Bason Botanic Gardens using public transport, take a bus from Palmerston North to Whanganui. Once in Whanganui, you can take a local bus or taxi to Castlecliff. If you opt for a taxi, it will take about 15 minutes to reach the gardens. The nearest bus stop will be on Rapanui Road, and from there it’s a short walk to the gardens entrance.
