• Car

  If you are driving from Whangarei, take State Highway 1 south towards Auckland. After about 27 kilometers, take the exit onto State Highway 12 towards Dargaville. Continue on State Highway 12 for approximately 23 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for Mangawhai. Turn left onto Mangawhai Road and follow it until you reach the intersection with Moir Street. Turn right onto Moir Street, and then take a left onto Wintle Street. Mangawhai Heads Beach will be located at 147 Wintle Street, which you will find on your left.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can catch a bus from Whangarei to Mangawhai. The bus service is provided by the Northland regional transport company. Check the schedule for the latest timings, as the frequency may vary. Once you arrive at the Mangawhai bus stop, you can take a taxi to Mangawhai Heads Beach, which is approximately 10 minutes away. Alternatively, you can walk from the bus stop by heading onto Moir Street, then left onto Wintle Street, which will lead you directly to the beach.

  If you are already in Mangawhai town and want to visit Mangawhai Heads Beach, you can use local taxi services or rideshare apps like Uber. It’s a short ride of about 10 minutes.
