If you are driving from Whangarei, take State Highway 1 south towards Auckland. After about 27 kilometers, take the exit onto State Highway 12 towards Dargaville. Continue on State Highway 12 for approximately 23 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for Mangawhai. Turn left onto Mangawhai Road and follow it until you reach the intersection with Moir Street. Turn right onto Moir Street, and then take a left onto Wintle Street. Mangawhai Heads Beach will be located at 147 Wintle Street, which you will find on your left.
