Walking
Start from downtown Hood River, on Oak Street. Head east towards 1st Street and turn right. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Cascade Avenue. Turn left onto Cascade Avenue. Keep walking straight as Cascade Avenue merges into the Historic Columbia River Highway. Follow the highway, and you will begin to see signs directing you to the Bridge of the Gods. The distance is about 4 miles, which should take roughly 1.5 to 2 hours on foot.

Bicycling
From downtown Hood River, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops. Start at the corner of Oak Street and 1st Street, and head east on 1st Street. Turn right onto Cascade Avenue. Follow Cascade Avenue as it turns into the Historic Columbia River Highway. You will see bike lanes that make this route safe and enjoyable. The total distance is approximately 4 miles and should take around 20-30 minutes to reach the Bridge of the Gods.

Unfortunately, there is no direct public transit from Hood River to Cascade Locks and the Bridge of the Gods. However, you can take the Columbia Area Transit (CAT) bus from the downtown Hood River Transit Center to Cascade Locks. Make sure to check the schedule as service may be limited.
