Bus
From downtown Hood River, walk to the nearest bus stop on Oak Street. Take the Columbia Gorge Express bus towards Portland. Inform the driver that you would like to get off at Cascade Locks. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Cascade Locks, walk east on WaNaPa Street until you reach the entrance of Rock of Ages Trail.

Bicycle
If you are comfortable cycling, rent a bike from a local shop in Hood River. Head east on the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail. Follow the trail along the river for about 15 miles until you reach Cascade Locks. Upon reaching the town, look for signs leading to Rock of Ages Trail, which will be a short trek from the trailhead.

Walking
For the adventurous, you can walk to Cascade Locks from Hood River. The distance is approximately 15 miles and will take around 5 hours. Head east on the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail, which offers beautiful views of the Columbia River. Follow the trail until you reach Cascade Locks, then make your way to Rock of Ages Trail by walking east on WaNaPa Street.
