If you are traveling by car, start from the city of Cusco. Take the PE-3S highway towards the town of Santa Teresa. The drive should take approximately 5-6 hours. There is a parking area near the trailhead, but be prepared for a short hike of about 1.5-2 hours uphill to reach Llaqtapata.

To reach Llaqtapata via public transport, take a bus or minivan from Cusco to Santa Teresa. The journey takes around 6-7 hours. Once in Santa Teresa, look for a local taxi or a shared van that can take you to the trailhead for Llaqtapata. Expect to pay around 10-20 soles for the taxi ride. From the trailhead, you will need to hike for approximately 1.5-2 hours to reach the archaeological site.
