From any location in Machu Picchu Pueblo, head towards the main square (Plaza Manco Cápac). From the square, locate the path that leads uphill towards the entrance of Machu Picchu. There are signs indicating 'Camino peatonal a Machu Picchu.' The walk is uphill and can take approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on your pace. Ensure you wear comfortable walking shoes, as the path can be steep and uneven.

If you are coming from the Aguas Calientes train station, exit the station and turn left onto Avenida Pachacutec. Walk straight until you reach the Plaza Manco Cápac. From there, follow the previous walking instructions to reach the Camino peatonal a Machu Picchu.

For those staying at hotels in Machu Picchu Pueblo, ask the hotel staff for the best route to the main square. Most hotels are within walking distance. Once you reach the square, follow the uphill path towards Machu Picchu as previously described.

Public Transportation (Bus)
Alternatively, if you prefer not to walk, there are buses that operate from Machu Picchu Pueblo to the entrance of Machu Picchu. The bus stop is located near the main square. The fare for the bus is approximately 12 soles one way. The bus ride takes about 20 minutes, and you will be dropped off at the entrance to Machu Picchu, from where you can access the Camino peatonal.
