Continue on this road until you reach the trailhead for Churup Lake, which is marked clearly. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours depending on traffic. Parking is available at the trailhead.

To reach Churup Lake via public transportation, start from Huaraz by taking a local bus to Carhuaz. Buses leave frequently from the main terminal and the ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Carhuaz, look for a minibus or shared taxi that goes to Pitek. The fare for the minibus is typically around 5-10 PEN. After arriving in Pitek, you will need to walk to the trailhead for Churup Lake, which is about a 30-minute hike from the village.
