Getting There

  • Car

    From the main entrance of Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge, head northwest on S. Pond Rd toward US-1 N. Turn left onto US-1 N and continue for approximately 3 miles. Take the exit toward Jamestown and merge onto RI-138 E. Follow RI-138 E for about 5 miles, then take the exit onto Jamestown Bridge. After crossing the bridge, take a slight right onto Narragansett Ave (RI-138A) and continue straight. When you reach the intersection with Windmill Hill Rd, turn left. The Windmill Hill Historic District will be on your right. Parking may be available along the road.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Windmill Hill Historic District using public transportation, first take the RIPTA bus #14 from the nearest stop to Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge. Ride the bus until you reach the stop at Jamestown, which will take approximately 30-40 minutes. From the bus stop, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile. Head northwest on Narragansett Ave (RI-138A) and then turn left onto Windmill Hill Rd. The Windmill Hill Historic District will be on your right.
