    From Kibungo, head southwest on the RN2 road towards the town of Nyamata. Continue on RN2 for approximately 50 km until you reach the junction near the town of Kayonza. At the junction, take a right turn onto the RN3 road. Follow RN3 for about 40 km until you reach the town of Butare. From Butare, follow signs to Nyungwe Forest National Park. The park entrance is approximately 30 km from Butare, and the road is well marked. Total travel time is approximately 2 to 3 hours, depending on traffic. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel, as there are limited fuel stations along the route.

    To reach Nyungwe Forest National Park from Kibungo via public transportation, first take a shared taxi or bus to the nearest major town, which is Butare. Shared taxis typically leave from designated taxi parks in Kibungo. The journey to Butare will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Once in Butare, you can find another shared taxi or bus heading to Nyungwe Forest National Park. The ride from Butare to the park entrance will take about 1 hour.
