Car
From Muhazi Lake, start by heading southwest on the main road (RN3). Continue on RN3 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the town of Kibungo. In Kibungo, take a right onto the road leading to Rwamagana (RN4). Drive for about 15 kilometers until you reach Rwamagana. In Rwamagana, follow the signs to the Nyungwe Forest National Park. Expect to pay a small toll at various checkpoints along RN3 and RN4, which can range from 500 RWF to 2000 RWF. The total journey should take about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.

Public Transportation
To travel by public transport, first, find a local bus or 'matatu' (shared taxi) from Muhazi Lake to Kibungo. The fare is approximately 1000 RWF and the trip takes around 30 minutes. Once in Kibungo, you will need to transfer to another matatu heading towards Rwamagana. This may cost another 1000 RWF and take about 15 minutes. After reaching Rwamagana, look for buses or matatus that go directly to Nyungwe Forest National Park. The fare from Rwamagana to Nyungwe is approximately 2000 RWF, and the journey will take about an hour. Be prepared for possible waiting times while you transfer between different modes of transport.

If you prefer a more direct option, you can hire a taxi from Muhazi Lake to Nyungwe Forest National Park.
