Getting There

  • Tuk-Tuk

    From Kandy city center, you can catch a tuk-tuk from the main tuk-tuk stand located near the Kandy Lake or the local market. Tell the driver you want to go to Heeloya Tourism Village, located on Poddalgoda Rd. The fare should be around 500-800 LKR depending on your negotiation skills and time of day. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic.

    Head to the Kandy Bus Station and look for a bus that goes towards Wattegama or Mahiyangana. You will need to get off at the 'Poddalgoda' stop. From there, you can either walk or hire a tuk-tuk to take you the remaining distance towards Heeloya Tourism Village, which is a short distance away (approximately 1 km).
