If you are traveling by car, head towards the Matale - Illukkumbura - Pallegama - Giradurukotte Road. From Matale town, take the A9 road south until you reach the Illukkumbura junction. Turn onto the Illukkumbura - Pallegama road (B498) and continue straight for about 8 km. You will pass through beautiful landscapes and small villages. Look for signs that indicate the direction to Pitawala Pathana. After about 4 km, you will reach a small parking area near the falls. Make sure to park safely and be cautious when walking towards the falls.

For those using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Matale town to Illukkumbura. Buses to Illukkumbura depart frequently from the Matale bus station, and the fare is typically around LKR 50. Once in Illukkumbura, you can either walk or hire a tuk-tuk to take you to the Pitawala Pathana area, which is approximately 4 km away. If you choose to walk, enjoy the scenic route, but be prepared for a bit of a trek. The tuk-tuk ride will cost around LKR 300-500, depending on your negotiation skills.
