Getting There

Car
From the main entrance of Mount Elgon National Park, take the road towards Bulucheke. Follow the signs to the park headquarters. Once you reach the headquarters, continue on the main road, keeping an eye out for the signs directing you to Nabusakala Hill. The road may be bumpy, so drive carefully. After approximately 10 kilometers, you will see a small parking area near the trailhead leading to Nabusakala Hill.

Public Transportation
If you're using public transportation, start by taking a matatu (shared taxi) from Mbale to Bulucheke. Make sure to inform the driver you want to stop near the Mount Elgon National Park headquarters. Once you arrive in Bulucheke, you can either walk the remaining distance to the park headquarters or hire a local boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) for a short ride. From the park headquarters, follow the marked trail towards Nabusakala Hill. The trailhead is located just a short distance from the headquarters.
