If you are traveling by car within Mount Elgon National Park, start from the park entrance at Budadiri. Follow the main road heading towards the park headquarters. After approximately 15 kilometers, you will reach the junction where you can take a right turn towards Bulucheke. Continue on this road for about 10 kilometers until you reach the coordinates 29FR+WW, Bulucheke. You will see signs marking the way to Kitawa Hilltop. Note that the roads may be rough, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended.

To reach Kitawa Hilltop using public transportation, take a matatu (shared taxi) from Mbale town heading to Budadiri. The ride takes about 30 minutes and costs around 3,000 UGX. Once you reach Budadiri, ask the local drivers about transportation to Bulucheke. You may need to hire a boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) for the remaining distance, which is approximately 10 kilometers and typically costs around 10,000 UGX. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your journey.
