Car
If you're traveling by car, start your journey from the main town of Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. Take the A848 south towards Salen. After approximately 10 miles, turn left onto the B8035 towards Fionnphort. Continue on this road for about 8 miles until you reach the village of Fionnphort. From Fionnphort, follow signs to the Abbey of Iona. Stone Head is located just past the Abbey, approximately 1 mile down the coastal path. Make sure to park in the designated car parks in Fionnphort, which may charge a small fee of around £3 for the day.

Public Transportation
For those using public transport, take the local bus service from Tobermory to Fionnphort. The bus runs several times a day, and you can check the local timetable for specific times. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Fionnphort, you will need to walk towards the Abbey of Iona. Stone Head is approximately a 20-minute walk from the bus stop, following the coastal path. Be prepared for some uneven terrain. Ensure you have sufficient time to return to Fionnphort for the bus back to Tobermory.

Walking
If you are already in close proximity to Stone Head, such as in the village of Fionnphort, you can take a scenic walk. From the village, head towards the Iona ferry terminal, then take the path that leads along the coast. Follow the signs towards the Abbey of Iona, and continue along the path for about 1 mile. The walk is picturesque, offering views of the coastline and wildlife. Ensure you wear appropriate footwear as the path can be rocky and uneven. This walk is free of charge.
