Getting There

• Walking

  If you're already in Westminster, one of the best ways to reach the Palace of Westminster is to walk. Head towards the River Thames. If you're near Westminster Abbey, walk directly east on Victoria Street until you reach the roundabout with Parliament Square. From there, follow the signs that lead you to the Palace of Westminster, which is located directly across from Parliament Square. You'll see the iconic Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament as you approach.

• Underground (Tube)

  If you're further away, the London Underground is a convenient option. Take the Tube to Westminster Station, which is on the Jubilee, District, and Circle lines. Upon exiting the station, follow the signs for the exit towards 'Parliament Square.' Once you emerge, you will see the Palace of Westminster directly ahead. The cost of a single journey on the Tube is approximately £2.50 when using an Oyster card or contactless payment.

• Bus

  Another option is to take a bus. Numerous bus routes service the area around the Palace of Westminster. You can catch a bus on Victoria Street or from stops on Parliament Square. Look for buses numbered 11, 24, 148, or 211. The bus will drop you off very close to the Palace. A single bus fare is also around £1.75, and you can use an Oyster card or contactless payment for convenience.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, you can hire a bike from a nearby Santander Cycle docking station. There is a docking station at the junction of Victoria Embankment and Parliament Street. Once you have your bike, follow the road along the River Thames, and you will find the Palace of Westminster just a short ride away. Note that you may need to pay a small fee for bike rental, typically starting at £2 for a single trip.
