Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, you will want to head towards Edinburgh EH4 3BJ. From the center of Midlothian, take the A7 towards Edinburgh. Join the A720 (City Bypass) and follow the signs for the A90. Merge onto the A90 and continue until you see signs for the A902. Follow the A902 until you reach the area of Stockbridge. The bridge is located near the Water of Leith walkway. There is limited parking available nearby, so be sure to check for parking restrictions.

• Bus

  For public transportation, take a bus from Midlothian to Edinburgh. You can catch a bus from various locations in Midlothian that head towards Edinburgh city center. The Lothian Buses service is reliable, and you can take the number 2, 36, or 44 buses to reach Stockbridge. Once you arrive at the Stockbridge bus stop, it's a short walk to Bell's Brae Bridge. Follow Bell's Brae road, and the bridge will be on your left. Be sure to check the latest bus schedules and fares, which typically cost around £1.80 for a single journey.

• Train

  You can also travel by train. From Midlothian, take a train from Midlothian Railway Station to Edinburgh Waverley Station. Once you arrive at Waverley, exit the station and take a bus (like the number 36) or walk towards Stockbridge. The distance is approximately 1.5 miles, and it takes about 30 minutes to walk. If you choose the train, make sure to check the train times and fares, which can vary but are usually around £5-£10 for a return trip.

• Walking

  If you're already in the Stockbridge area, walking to Bell's Brae Bridge is a pleasant option. From Stockbridge, head down to the Water of Leith walkway and follow the path along the river. The bridge is easily accessible from the walkway and is located near various cafes and shops, making it an enjoyable stroll.
