Walking
If you're starting from York city centre, head towards the main road, Stonegate. Walk south until you reach the traffic lights at the junction with High Ousegate. Cross the road and continue straight onto Coney Street. Follow Coney Street until you reach the end, then turn left onto the bridge over the River Ouse. After crossing the bridge, continue onto Skeldergate, which will bring you into the area known as Knavesmire. Continue straight along Skeldergate, and when you reach the roundabout, take the first exit onto Racecourse Road. York Racecourse will be on your left-hand side.

From the city centre, you can catch a bus to York Racecourse. Head to the nearest bus stop on Coney Street and look for services labeled 'Racecourse' or 'Knavesmire'. Take any bus that goes in the direction of the racecourse. The journey should take around 10-15 minutes. Get off the bus at the Racecourse stop, which is right outside the entrance. From there, follow the signs to the main entrance of York Racecourse.

If you prefer a quicker and more comfortable option, you can take a taxi. Simply hail a taxi from one of the taxi ranks in the city centre or book one via a local taxi company.
