Getting There

Hiking
To reach Slick Rock Recreation Area from the Giant Forest area, start by taking the Congress Trail near the General Sherman Tree. Follow the trail for about a mile until you reach the intersection with the Moro Rock Trail. Continue straight, heading toward the Crescent Meadow. Once at Crescent Meadow, look for the trail that leads to the High Sierra Trail. Follow the High Sierra Trail for approximately 3 miles until it intersects with the main road leading to the entrance of the Slick Rock Recreation Area.

If you're near the Lodgepole Visitor Center, you can bike to Slick Rock Recreation Area. Start on the bike path that leads toward the main park road. Follow the path for about 3 miles until you reach the junction with the road to the Three Rivers area. Turn left and continue biking for another 4 miles until you see the entrance sign for Slick Rock Recreation Area. Be sure to carry plenty of water and snacks!
