Allow approximately 10-15 minutes to reach the Old Bridge area. Note that Hauptstrasse is a pedestrian zone.

Several bus and tram lines converge at Bismarckplatz, providing easy access to the Altstadt. From Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof (main train station), take tram lines 21, 24 or 26 to Bismarckplatz (€3.40 single ticket). From Bismarckplatz, follow the walking directions above. Alternatively, from the Hauptbahnhof, take the train (S-Bahn) to Heidelberg Altstadt station (€5-9), which is a short walk to the Altstadt.

Taxis and ride-sharing services are readily available in Heidelberg. A taxi from Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof to the Altstadt will cost approximately €12-€18, depending on traffic. Parking rates typically range from €2.00-€2.50 per hour, with daily maximums of €15.00-€18.00. From the parking garage, follow pedestrian signs to enter the Altstadt.
