If you are driving in your own car, take the M6 motorway towards Galway. From Dublin, the journey is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Exit at Junction 6 for the N62 towards Athlone. Continue on the N62 until you reach the junction with the R444. Turn left onto the R444, follow the signs for Clonmacnoise, and after about 10 minutes, you will arrive at the entrance of Clonmacnoise Monastery. There is a parking area available on site, and parking is usually free.
